Registration of Pressure Equipment

Item registration/design registration — we'll help you with the paperwork!

Item registration is required for boilers and pressure vessels with hazard level of A, B, or C according to the criteria specified in Australian Standard AS4343 (except LP gas fuel vessels for automotive use; serially produced pressure vessels; or pressure vessels that do not require periodic internal inspection).

Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011, Chapter 5, Part 5.3, Division 2. Clause 246:

Items of plant to be registered:

1. An item of plant specified in Part 2 of Schedule 5 must be registered under this Part. Note — see section 42 of the Act.
2. The purpose of registering an item of plant is to ensure that it is inspected by a competent person and is safe to operate.
